Finance Business Partner

We are looking for a Finance Business Partner to provide strong financial support to our organisation, including the management of accounts and financial analysis in a timely, accurate, and consistent manner. The successful candidate will take responsibility for the end-to-end management of contracts and act as the main financial support for a part of our organisation. This role requires a deep understanding of service performance and delivery to support decision-making and offer advice for improvements.
Day to Day of the Role:
- Produce and distribute accurate, timely monthly management accounts to budget holders.
- Engage with operational teams to guide and improve business performance through financial understanding.
- Use financial analysis techniques to review areas of activity, identify continuous improvement, and ensure value for money.
- Build and maintain close working relations with key stakeholders to assess financial skill levels across the organisation.
- Reconcile control accounts regularly and ensure reconciling items are cleared promptly.
- Support the production of the annual audit file and address queries from external auditors.
- Direct line management of the Finance Assistant role.
- Produce robust annual budgets and reforecasts, providing financial analysis and guidance for the budgeting exercise.
- Manage client contracts from a finance and legal perspective, including pricing structure advice, fee negotiations, and timely invoicing.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA, AAT or equivalent) or qualified by significant experience.
- Strong technical accounting skills with the ability to critically analyse and interpret financial information.
- Staff management experience with the ability to motivate staff to achieve objectives.
- Experience in writing reports and presentations for Management/Board consideration.
- Confidence to constructively challenge colleagues on financial performance and management.
- Proficient user of integrated financial systems) and MS Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of clearly conveying finance issues to non-finance staff at all levels.
- Ability to prioritise workload and work under pressure to meet reporting deadlines.
