An exciting and unique opportunity has become available with our client for a motivated and self-starting Events Manager to work with the Domestic Operations Manager and Events Co-Ordinator on a temporary basis, with a view to offer a permanent position, should you deliver whilst in role. This role requires you to proactively plan, coordinate and deliver the educational setting’s internal events programme to an exceptional standard whilst also managing the Events Co-ordinator.
Events Manager Responsibilities
This is a fast-paced and varied role covering a wide range of activities and priorities that will change daily. The successful applicant will be expected to collaborate with the rest of the Events team to ensure successful delivery of each function.
Some of your duties with include but are not limited to:
- Working with the Domestic Operations Manager to ensure effective strategic focus and delivery of events for the setting.
- Managing each event from point of enquiry to invoice, answering queries, planning, and co-ordination whilst also delegating to the Events Co-ordinator.
- Actively promote the use of the setting as a venue to internal and external stakeholder to increase commercial revenue
- Managing the events calendar and ensuring effective planning, communication and effective costing throughout the end to end process.
- Managing staff recruitment, rota’s and training to ensure compliance throughout
- Maintaining inventory of stock, including stock rotation, deliveries and stock management.
- Manging the events diary and stepping into the Co-ordinator role where required.
- Maintaining the events section of the website is regularly updated with correct and accurate information.
- Taking a leading role alongside all service managers to create a sense of teamwork and collaborative workload.
- Reviewing revenue data with the Finance Department to inform budgets and future activities.

Events Manager Experience
This is the ideal role for a degree educated (or equivalent) individual who is a diligent and outgoing events management professional, with demonstrable experience of planning and delivering successful events. It is also essential to have knowledge of health and safety and hygiene compliance. Communication is essential to the success of this busy role, and it is best suited to someone who has excellent verbal and written communication skills and is confident in liaising with and informing all stakeholders within the organisation in a diplomatic manner. A self-starter you will have a keen eye for detail with high-level organisational and project management skills and the ability to manage multiple event priorities within a timely manner. Event budget and project management skills are vital to the success of this role, therefore you will need to be able to demonstrate that you can prepare and work towards budgets, completing any administration where necessary. A natural problem solver, you will be able to navigate through crises, expressing and showing sound judgment whilst remaining calm under pressure to ensure effective delivery. You will have a flexible approach to work, and be committed to work outside normal hours and at weekends in the lead up to and on the day/night of events. Proficient experience and knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite is essential. Proven experience of delivering high-profile events and working in large organisations managing commercial events or related field is an essential requirement to this role.
Location
OX1 – Please note, there is no parking on site.
This is a full time position, working Monday – Friday (8am – 6pm), with some weekend and evening working where required e.g. at the events.
This is a fully office based role.
