Job Overview

We are currently recruiting for an Energy Manager to join our passionate and driven team.

An excellent opportunity for an Energy Manager who will work collaboratively with our energy and operational management teams on designated client energy accounts in the public and private sectors supporting customers energy and decarbonisation targets and net zero strategies.

The purpose of the role is to be the dedicated point of contact for energy and carbon management across several Facilities Management contracts within OCS Technical Services business. The role will predominantly work with major government contract in the London & South area; however, they will support all areas of our facilities management business when required to do so

Key Responsibilities:

Technical

  • Ensure effective management of energy, carbon and utilities to meet client objectives and contractual requirements.
  • Drive forward energy efficiency and zero carbon management programmes by identifying, developing and implementing energy and zero carbon related opportunities and technologies.
  • Provide first line management of the BMS System across key contracts estate and manage supply partner relationships for building management systems (BMS) and where appropriate, utility providers.
  • Drive engagement programmes, collaboration and initiatives which promote energy and carbon reduction strategies.
  • Keep up to date and promote best in class energy optimisation and low carbon technologies, initiatives and legislation.
  • Promote exemplar energy and carbon management and provide advice and support to contract leads and clients for the continuous improvement of energy management practices / solutions.
  • Proactively support OCS Technical Services in delivering our Energy and Carbon Management Services across key clients.
  • Undertake energy audits to identify energy and carbon savings opportunities.
  • Manage all aspects of client reporting, including consumption trending, client specific reports and ongoing accreditation applications.
  • Support clients in applying for energy and carbon reduction funding schemes.
  • Support clients in maintaining compliance with energy and carbon legislation and reporting requirements.

Experience in environment and sustainability

  • Own environmental and sustainability action plan to ensure the timely delivery of best practice solutions that contribute to the customer
  • Support the implementation of the environmental management system contract
  • Monitor and drive environmental and sustainability solutions delivery.
  • Lead carbon impact assessment for the contract and support implementation of carbon reduction initiatives ( data collection, report production, ongoing monitoring)
  • Educate and increase awareness of sustainability and the environment within the contract making it relevant to all colleagues.

Raise general awareness by speaking and promoting net zero, sustainability and environment across the contract and with the customer.

About You:

  • Applicants must have the right to work in the UK
  • Extensive experience in energy management
  • Chartered Energy Manager or can demonstrate working towards this qualification or equivalent.
  • Customer-focused, experience of operating within the Facilities Management industry.
  • Working knowledge of BMS and control theory.
  • Competency in current benchmark techniques and statistical analysis
  • A clear understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering systems not limited to heating, lighting, chiller, AHUs and building fabric services.
  • Capable of preparing costed energy efficiency proposals and reports.
  • Ability to carry out energy surveys, audits and feasibility studies.
  • Strong and effective communicator with established relationship building skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Willingness to work as part of a team.
  • Client focused and professional with the requisite skills to establish and maintain relationships.
  • A self-motivated person who is target driven and possesses the ability to work on their own initiative.
  • Ability to work calmly and efficiently in a pressurised environment.
