Are you passionate about decarbonisation and strengthening North Wales’ status as a leading location for low carbon? We are seeking an experienced and dynamic PM to provide leadership, support, and challenge across projects within the North Wales Growth Deal including two in the hydrogen sector.
You will be responsible for delivering assigned projects within the programme, which aims to unlock the economic benefits of transformational low carbon energy initiatives and position North Wales as a leading UK location for low carbon generation, innovation, and supply chain investment. The programme currently consists of the following:
- Ambition North Wales Hydrogen Hub
- Holyhead Hydrogen Hub
- Cydnerth
- Trawsfynydd Power Station
- Egni
- Smart Local Energy
- Deeside Anaerobic Digestion Plant
You will have the opportunity to play a key role in delivering low carbon and decarbonisation initiatives, whilst creating new jobs, unlocking investment, and increasing prosperity in North Wales. The role will give you the opportunity to work with a wide range of stakeholders in the sector, including local authorities, government, the private sector and our universities and colleges. As Energy and Net Zero Project Managerat Ambition North Wales, some of your responsibilities will include:
- Project-managing and supporting the development and delivery of regional energy and decarbonisation programmes identified by Ambition North Wales (e.g. the North Wales Growth Deal’s Hydrogen Hubs, which are anticipated to help kick-start the hydrogen economy in North Wales)
- Developing and reviewing business cases
- Achieving individual objectives and cumulative programme outcomes and targets on time and within allocated resources
- Coordinating activity and inter-dependencies across the programme and wider Growth Deal portfolio.
- Leading on stakeholder engagement working collaboratively with partners to deliver objectives and benefits.
At Ambition North Wales, we are looking for an Energy and Net Zero Project Managerwho has the following:
- Educated to degree level or equivalent experience in a relevant field
- Good knowledge and understanding of the low carbon energy sector in North Wales
- Ability to build relationships and motivate and inspire others to act. Ability to work under own initiative as well as within a team environment.
- Experience of successful programme and/or project delivery to deadline and to budget.
- Experience of effective public/stakeholder engagement.
- Previous experience of contract management.
- ICT literate, at ease with Word, PowerPoint, Excel and relevant databases and social media.
The team have adopted a hybrid working model with a mix of Llandudno Junction office based and home working. In return, you will receive a salary of £43,421 – £45,441 per annum plus membership of the local government pension scheme and generous annual leave entitlement. This is a full-time role with Ambition North Wales; however, we will consider flexible working requests for the right person. This is a 2-year fixed term contract initially.
