The Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team at Amazon is fundamental to our operations â theyâre the ones keeping vital machinery running at all times. As an RME Technician, youâll maintain a wide range of equipment and workspaces while upholding Health and Safety best practices. You’ll help to keep your colleagues safe and prevent machine downtime. Our RME Technicians boost the availability and quality of our equipment and work to enhance the operational environment too.
Key job responsibilities
Proactive and preventative maintenance tasks on a wide range of site equipment
Carry out reactive repairs and fault diagnosis in a live distribution warehouse
Use the latest tools to maximise equipment effectiveness
Uphold all health and safety policies and practices
Support the development and progression of on-site apprentices
Work on continuous improvement projects and roll out best practices across a range of EU sites
A day in the life
Our RME Technicians are based on-site, so they can respond quickly to any machinery issues. Youâll carry out a range of planned preventative maintenance to our sitesâ equipment to make sure itâs working safely. As an RME Technician, youâll also respond promptly to breakdowns, investigating, finding, and implementing solutions as quickly as possible. Youâll also make suggestions for long-term improvements.
Working alongside senior colleagues, youâll undertake day-to-day maintenance tasks like painting and plumbing and will liaise with contractors if you need external expertise. Youâll work on a range of shifts to make sure our sites are supported around the clock â allowing Amazon to deliver at the speed weâre known for.

The team is the foundation of our business and its efforts have helped us diversify across new regions and services. The CF team are the first people in the chain that helps customers get products at the speed weâre known for. Weâre based in Fulfilment Centres, which are at the heart of Amazonâs fast-paced Operations network. Our centres are sometimes referred to as the âFirst Mileâ because itâs where most Amazon packages start their journey. We help to manage dynamic inventory and facilitate speedy deliveries round the clock.
Lots of different people work in our Fulfilment Centres, so there are plenty of opportunities for every skillset. Some of us work with physical products, while others analyse data to help everyone across the business make smart decisions.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
-NVQ Level 3 (or international equivalent) in an engineering discipline or another practical engineering qualification
-Relevant experience as a qualified engineer
-Relevant experience working in mechanical and/or electrical maintenance
-Advanced proficiency in the local language verbally and in writing
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

-Experience in fault-finding and maintaining conveyor or automation systems
