Are you a committed Support Worker who could make a positive impact on the lives of women who have suffered from domestic violence? Would you benefit from working full time hours in a rewarding front-line role? If so, a small Domestic Violence support charity is recruiting for a passionate and enthusiastic Support Worker to join their experienced team in Birmingham.
The purpose is to ensure women and girls feel safer, can assess safe accommodation, be informed, and feel able to make informed choices, understanding of healthy relationships and are well-connected with positive support services.
The successful candidate will act of the first point of contact for survivors of domestic and sexual violence or abuse accessing the service. They will provide crisis intervention, identifying risks and carrying out support planning which are strength and needs led. Furthermore, they will successfully manage a diverse caseload, conducting quality support sessions on a regular basis. A knowledge of housing management is required to enable users to continue living independently.
This is a rewarding, yet challenging role which would suit a Support Worker who is resilient but able to work with empathy. Additionally, you will benefit from having a strong understanding of the challenges faced by clients fleeing from abuse.
