Exciting opportunity for a Design Manager with an established Main Contractor, with significant growth plans. The company turnover has doubled year or year for 4 years and shows no sign of slowing down. This would be an exciting career move for a Design Manager as the company have now secured a good number of contracts providing them with a strong pipeline through 24 and 25.
The team will need to grow more over the coming years and the successful candidate could grow into a Head of Design role if they are the right individual.

Main Purpose of the Job
To control and co-ordinate of all technical information between external consultants and internal departments and ensure its timely distribution to commercial and construction to meet the build programmes
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Typically the Design Manager will be expected to undertake the following duties:
- Management of external Architects, Fire Consultants, Civil Engineers, Structural Engineers
- Ensuring the production of design programmes, design scopes, design responsibility matrices, appointments, schedules to record progress, upline reporting, attending/chairing necessary meetings and workshops
- Assist the SMT in production of bid information for new projects
- Represent the company at client / project meetings, taking a lead of design / technical aspects of the projects.
Person Specification
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Will have experience of working upon a variety of new build and refurbishment construction projects
- Considerable experience in a project running role for other Main Contractors on project £5M+
- Have a proven track record of delivery while displaying commercial awareness.
- Be able to demonstrate strong organisational skills, as well as effective communication skills when dealing with internal and external resources.
- Have a good knowledge and awareness of Health and Safety and CDM.
- A good knowledge of Planning, Building Regulations, NHBC, Drainage Highway matters, Public Utilities, Party Wall Awards and associated legislation connected with the construction industry
