The Global Practice Management System (GPMS) based on SAP technology went live in September 2017, streamlining our business processes with great success. In addition, weโ€™re soon to integrate new planning and financial consolidation functionalities into Norton Rose Fulbright this year with the finance business information team proving 1st line support. This addition promises to revolutionise our financial strategic planning.

Part of the wider Commercial Finance function, the Finance Business Information (FBI) team play a critical role in ensuring a seamless implementation and ongoing support of these new capabilities. Our expertise in bridging the gap between business services and IT support departments is invaluable ensuring business continuity. With the new planning and financial consolidation features, we expect to empower the teams with better decision-making and resource optimisation.

The role

This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious individual who wishes to be part of a progressive and customer-centric team. The FBI team contains 4 highly technical individuals who specialise in SAP ECC, SAP BW, SAP Business Objects, Tableau and SQL. We are now looking for a Finance Systems Data Analyst to support the team in meeting its objective of providing the business with 1st class support and continuity in providing high quality financial business information.

The role would suit someone who has a financial background, understands financial system administration, business processes & reporting within a service industry and now seeking to gain a broader system analyst and reporting experience.

The expectation is that the successful candidate will relish the opportunity to develop and learn from the existing team to upskill and develop technical awareness and skills on how to use and maintain the various systems we have in place.

Key elements of the role: –

ยท System administration and development of new Planning and Consolidation tool (Tagetik).

ยท Monitoring global system enhancements, supporting the successful delivery of system changes.

ยท Developing reports by comprehending business needs and requirements.

ยท Proactively communicate and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels to understand information needs based on user stories.

ยท Engage with key business services process owners to capture requirements, document solutions, provide updates and updates on deliverables.

ยท Working collaboratively with other team members to document business process change which ensures quality & control of data is maintained.

ยท Undertake detailed data reconciliations and investigations to identify data quality issues.

ยท Provide support to the team when required by providing business information.

ยท Shared ownership of the FBI shared inbox and delegate ownership of requests to the relevant team member

ยท Escalation of functional relevant issues on a day-to-day basis

ยท Setting up and maintaining schedules to ensure information is provided as required.

ยท Organising and maintaining data access rights

ยท Raising incident tickets and liaising with related parties to ensure incidents are resolved.

ยท Learn to pull data from SAP ECC, SAP Business Objects, SAP BW and SQL

ยท Other activities as directed by the Senior Manager, Reporting & Business Information and Commercial Finance senior leadership

Requirements:

Essential

ยท Proven ability to undertake detailed data reconciliations.

ยท Experience of system administration.

ยท A problem solving and analytical mindset

ยท Capable of producing high quality data documentation

ยท Finance background with an understanding of business processes (S2C, P2P & FM)

ยท Efficient working knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word

ยท Solid numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail

ยท Ability to communicate effectively, both written and orally

ยท Positive, committed and prepared to use initiative to develop.

ยท Ability to take responsibility, meet deadlines and work under pressure with multiple tasks.

ยท Collaborative: able to work successfully with both peers in the FBI team but also with stakeholders across the business

Advantageous

ยท Experience of working in a professional services business (ideally legal)

ยท Experience in the use of SAP based applications.

ยท Experience in the use of MS SQL Tools
