THE ROLE:
So where to start โ possibly with a blank sheet of paper. You will be joining a national team of well respected corporate lawyers all of whom are ranked in Chambers & Partners and Legal 500. The team have an impressive deal sheet and a serious range of transactions undertaken for some serious companies. Your mission (should you choose to accept it!) is to go and grow the corporate team in Birmingham. You will be given the full support of the wider national team but this is your project and your team to build and develop. The idea of a blank sheet of paper and no plan but your own should thrill you with excitement and a load of ideas which you are itching to develop. You will be given the remit to build and develop the Birmingham corporate offering and will have some excellent connections locally which will help you build and develop the corporate practice in the Midlands.
THE CANDIDATE:
The ideal Corporate Solicitor will have excellent academics and have gained eight or more years of post-qualification experience within corporate law at another recognised law firm. The Solicitor should have a wealth of knowledge in all areas of corporate law, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and shareholder agreements. The Corporate Solicitor will be an expert at business development and committed to cross selling and supporting growth of other areas of the business. It would be a distinct advantage if applicants had prior experience of supervising other members of the team as, due to the experience level required for this appointment, the Corporate Solicitor will be expected to use their experience and expertise to help other members of the team reach their full potential. This, however, is not mandatory and full management and leadership training will be provided.
