We have a fantastic opportunity to join our busy Procurement team as CommercialContract Manager on a fixed term basis for 12 months.
You’ll be based in our head office in Basingstoke, combining office and home working to ensure a positive work / life balance.

The Role
As CommercialContract Manager, you’ll be responsible for the delivery of the commercialcontract savings initiativescontributing to the total Supplier RelationshipManagement SRM) project benefit. This role is vital in the mobilisation of ourSRM programme., which will pave the way for how SNG contracts will be managed going forwards, ensuring value for money is delivered during the contract life and that contracts remain compliant.
Reporting into ourSRMMobilisationLead, responsibilities include:
- Supporting the SRMMobilisationLead to deliver commercial benefit, contractmanagement best practices and implement the SRM approach across SNG contracts and supply chain
- Delivery of commercialcontractmanagementopportunities against agreed targets which have been committed to as part of the SRM programme, such as strategic purchasing, reducing contract leakage, adherence to contract pricing and KPI’s, and maximising rebates
- Workingwith suppliers and senior business leads to manage contractsappropriately, obtain key supplier performance information and maintain the relationship
- Identifyingunderperformingcontracts and workingwith key stakeholders and suppliers to improve delivery and reach a positive outcome for all parties
- Reviewing, drafting and negotiatingcontractualdocumentation whilst identifying and mitigatingcontractual risks and liabilities, and ensuring contract changes identified as part of SRM are reflected through formal contractvariations
- Leading in the design and implementation of innovativecommercial solutions, including robust and leading-edge contractmanagement tools, techniques and processes and helping to embed these across the organisation
What we’re looking for
You’llhavedemonstrable experience in a similar role in procurementwith extensive experience of managing the commercial performance of procurementcontracts. You’ll also have:
- Experience in contract drafting and varying
- Significantnegotiation and supplier managementskills
- Sound business acumen and robust commercial judgment, always advocating best commercial practice
- Excellent stakeholdermanagementskillswith proven ability to engage and influence others
- A professional and logical approach to problem solving with strong analyticalskills
- Good level of IT skills, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint
- An organised approach to your workload with excellent attention to detail
- Strong collaborationskills, sharing ideas and workingcohesivelywith the wider team
