School Caretaker
Are you looking for a rewarding and challenging role in a friendly and supportive school environment? Do you have experience in maintaining and repairing school premises and facilities? If so, you might be the ideal candidate for the position of School Caretaker.
As a School Caretaker, you will be responsible for:
- Opening and closing the school premises, ensuring security and fire safety
- Carrying out routine inspections and repairs of the buildings, grounds and equipment
- Liaising with contractors and suppliers for external maintenance and improvement works
- Managing the school’s energy consumption and waste disposal
- Supervising the cleaning staff and ensuring high standards of hygiene and cleanliness
- Assisting with the setup and breakdown of school events and activities
- Reporting any issues or concerns to the Headteacher or the School Business Manager
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A relevant qualification or experience in caretaking, maintenance or facilities management
- A good knowledge of health and safety regulations and procedures
- A practical and proactive approach to problem-solving and repairs
- A friendly and professional attitude and excellent communication skills
This is a temporary role with the potential for a permanent contract based on performance and availability. The working hours are 35 per week, Monday to Friday.
