Cablecraft Motion Controls Ltd is a well-established manufacturer of 50+ years based in Hailsham, East Sussex and we currently have a position available for a buyer. This role will mean sole responsibility for purchasing inventory and non-stock items, supplier price negotiation and expediating purchase orders where needed. You will also be liaising with sales & production daily to ensure all information on incoming inventory is conveyed as appropriate.
Main responsibilities and duties
Placing/Monitoring/Expediate of Purchase Orders
Ensuring maintenance of Supplier/Product information is kept up to date.
Maintaining accurate costs records and re negotiating/resourcing where appropriate.
Research of new suppliers
Liaising with production over shortages
Assisting with production scheduling
Key Skills and Experience
Previous procurement experience in a manufacturing environment
Must be computer literate and have skills in Microsoft Office
Knowledge/Experience of MRP systems
Commercial awareness
Good attention to detail
Strong communication skills (Verbal & Written)
There will also be an expectation to help with general duties in the office when staff absence / holidays occur.
Having recently re located to a brand-new premises, the working environment is in a modern well lit and smart office.
Hours will be Monday – Thursday 8.30am to 5.00pm – 1 hour for lunch. Friday 8.00am – 1.00pm
28 days holiday per year (including Public Holidays). After 3 months service you will be entitled to death in service benefit and private medical benefit. Pension scheme is via Auto – Enrolment.
