Role Overview:

This role sits within the IT function and will be mainly responsible for driving the definition, alignment and execution of the global trade surveillance vision and strategy for TP ICAP, including production of a global roadmap for TP ICAP trade surveillance rollout, managing all impacts from new business initiatives, and overseeing BAU support on behalf of global Compliance.

The Business Analyst will work closely in partnership with Platform Product Owners (PPO) and stakeholders in Compliance, Technology, corporate functions and front office to develop product roadmaps, ensure regulatory compliance, define requirements with architecture goals and standards, and support development teams.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Business Analysis on regulatory focused technology initiatives in the area of trade and order surveillance and monitoring
  • Liaise with Compliance, Business Managers, Product Managers, Business Analysts, Project Managers, QA, and other areas of the business to define requirements
  • Define and contribute to gathering requirement standards for the wider Trade Surveillance Programme becoming a champion
  • Document functional and non-functional user stories and Epics – both upstream (order management / deal management platforms) and downstream (Enterprise BUS to Surveillance Platform reporting)
  • Coordinate, Lead, and Facilitate requirements gathering and process definition workshops with the business and Compliance
  • Work on multiple regulatory sub-projects and deliverables whilst managing multiple deadlines and differing priorities
  • Work closely with various Product Owners and IT Agile delivery teams across TP ICAP organisation to ensure surveillance dependencies on other teams are effectively managed

Experience / Competences:

Essential

  • Understanding the full project life cycle from requirements capture through to implementation and delivery
  • Understanding of Wholesale Financial Services, ideally with a good understanding of the front-to-back trade lifecycle
  • Technology software development lifecycle (SDLC) process and experience implementing technology in Financial Services (preferred)
  • Good understanding of various Agile/Waterfall development methodologies
  • Proven experience of regulatory focused business analysis and/or product deliverables
  • Proven practical experience in business analysis, problem solving, documentation and working to tight deadlines, ideally in an Agile environment delivering technology solutions

Desired:

  • Market Surveillance & Monitoring domain expertise – market abuse alert scenarios, case-management, pattern recognition & artificial intelligence
  • Front Office process knowledge – broking methods: algo, hybrid, voice and electronic, trade and order capture including trading protocols RFQ, CLOB, etc.
  • Product knowledge and modelling across wholesale markets FICC, ETDs and Equities using fpml, FIX and other similar industry standards
  • Middle Office process knowledge – control and processing of transactions, Back Office Process – Clearing, Settlement, Invoicing, payment and Confirmations
  • Global regulatory regimes including MiFID II, EMIR, REMIT, MAR, Dodd Frank and also regulator specific requirements e.g. FINRA, NFA, SEC, CFTC, FCA, Monetary Authority of Singapore
  • Experience working with surveillance technology
  • Understands data requirements and related functional / technical aspects of a surveillance system
  • Inter-Dealer Broker experience including ETD trading and related block trading
  • Worked in Compliance function or at least understands in context of surveillance the Reg requirements for an inter-dealer broker
  • Worked in Scaled Agile teams or similar Agile frameworks
