Role Profile
Our client is a fast-growing environmental clean-tech business that is making fundamental changes to the cleaning processes of large manufacturers across the globe – radically improving their sustainability standards through our product and service offerings. As Accounting Manager you would be looking after the end-to-end processing and management of the company accounts, with a plan to build a team as the company grows. You would be involved all facets of the accounting function from entry to reporting, and there is substantial opportunity to set and improve accounting processes for efficiency and growth. You would be working with the Financial Controller and a forthcoming Head of Finance and be instrumental to the condition of the corporate accounts.
You will work Monday to Friday and the company operate a hybrid working model, with office facilities in both Maidenhead and Paddington.
Key Responsibilities
- Processing all purchase, sales and general ledger items
- Gathering internal approvals and handling external query management
- Managing debtors, creditors, and scheduling payment runs
- Reviewing, installing and improving accounting processes
- Executing month end task lists, checks and balances
- Preparing monthly management information
- Implementing and improving accounting KPIs
- Coordinating payroll between relevant teams
- Review and submitting quarterly VAT submissions
- Building and leading a team (in due course)
Key Skills & Experience
- Minimum 3 years of practical experience in a similar accounting position
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, practices and standards (accounting qualifications favourable)
- Excellent experience with accounting software (Xero would be ideal)
- Ability to look after accounts from processing through to management, and to build out processes, improvements, and team (over time)
- Experience in a product/service-related business
- A detail-orientated and critical-thinking mentality with problem-solving skills and strong initiative
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (Management experience is a bonus)
