MBA are proud to be partnering our client in their search for a Business Development Manager to lead and develop their Restaurant channel. After what has been several years of successive growth our client are on the cusp of an exciting period of change as they look to diversify and increase their scope over new markets in an effort to reach new customers. This role will play an instrumental part in helping them to achieve key business objectives and as such we’re looking for an experienced BDM with specific experience of selling to the restaurant industry (ideally of both food and non food items).
  
The role:
 
As the Business Development Manager you will be responsible for landing and expanding new clients across the restaurant channel, helping to diversify the business’ portfolio of customers. You’ll be a natural at networking, able to build trusted relationships with new and existing customers aiming to increase their overall spend across multiple categories (including food and non food). You’ll work closely with the Bid Management team to ensure all bids are managed to meet timescales and with attractive commercial propositions. You will lead the onboarding of new customers from the successful commencement of new contracts and ensure a successful experience for the customer and that the new relationship is protected from any potential risk or disruption.
  
  
A bit about you and your experience:
  
You’ll need to be able to evidence of experience of successful selling and obtaining new customers from within the restaurant channel. Experience of selling food and beverages is expected, with experience of selling non food items of benefit to this role. You’ll demonstrate fantastic communication skills and be confident at designing, building and delivering presentations aimed at both external and internal stakeholder groups. Proficiency with systems such as Excel and Salesforce (or similar) is needed to ensure effective management of the customer acquisition pipeline. You can evidence sound commercial acumen and how to successfully manoeuvre sales levers to achieve a successful outcome.
  
  
This is a ‘hands on role’ that requires a self-starter who is comfortable operating as both a ‘hunter’ and a ‘farmer’ in the sales dynamic! Experience within the specified channel is essential as we’ll need you to be able to hit the ground running, execute at pace and utilise prior contacts and relationships gathered from your earlier experience.
