Elevation Recruitment Group’s Skilled Shop Floor Team are proud to be working in partnership with a well-established manufacturing business based in Sherburn in Elmet.
The client is a manufacturer of ultra-lightweight and efficient vehicles that increase efficiency and reduce costs.
Their Sherburn in Elmet facility is facing continued growth, and they are currently looking for a number of Automotive Paint Sprayers to join their ever growing team.
Automotive Paint Sprayers
As a Paint Operative, you will work within the Production department to prepare surfaces, clean products and apply a layer or layers of paint or coating to protect it from the elements while at the same time ensuring the professional look of the product. As a key member of the Production team, you will have the ability to be able to communicate well across the whole team. You will also be able to carry out your role and complete the job to the required quality and standards.
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Working Hours: Monday to Thursday – 6am – 2pm / Friday 6am – 11.30am
Overtime: Paid at time and ½ after 37.5 hours per week and Saturday / Double time Sunday
Overview of the role of an Automotive Paint Sprayer:
- Ensure health and safety requirements are met at all times in your work area.
- Masking and preparation of newly manufactured vehicles.
- Preparation of GRP and aluminium substrates prior to paint.
- Application of 2k etch & high-build primers.
- Preparation of primer prior to topcoat.
- Application of 2k topcoat direct gloss.
- Ability to use ‘wet on wet’ system when required.
- Understanding of livery drawings and ability to lineout.
- Ability to rectify flaws and imperfections in the topcoat.
- Knowledge of colour identification and formulation on computerised mixing scheme.
- To regulate the temperature and air circulation in drying ovens.
- To tend equipment.
- To observe and adjust gauges
- To operate the spray gun to apply touch-ups.
- This list is not exhaustive, the role may require other reasonable duties from time to time in line with needs of the business.
Skills & Experience:
- Experience in working in a commercial automotive paint shop / full body spraying.
- A keen eye for detail.
- Good knowledge of Health and Safety practices.
- Good knowledge of the working area.
- Ability to manage your time effectively.
- Good organisational skills.
- Ability to plan and forecast.
- Good knowledge of quality standards and legal compliance.
- Good knowledge of the timescales required for booth maintenance and managing these with the Facilities team.
- Ability to create master templates for the design of paint schemes.
