Assistant Area Manager – Retail
30 hours per week, 4 days (can include Saturdays)
Multi-site – Biggleswade, Hatfield, Hemel Hempstead, Hertford, Letchworth Garden City, Stevenage and Welwyn
£26,6000 (full time equivalent)
OA are recruiting for an Assistant Area Manager to join our clients team on a permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity within the Charity sector, where your work truly makes a difference.

Key Responsibilities:
To assist and cover for the Area Manager during periods of annual leave or absence
- Provide cover in retail stores, including leadership duties for Volunteers (such as day to day support, recruitment and retention)
- Ensure products are priced correctly and ready for sale
- Achieving sales and profit targets to maximise donations and support the charity’s purpose
- Managing customer and donor engagement, to ensure the best possible relationship
- Manage the physical appearance of the shop, including merchandising and visual layout
- Accurate cash handling and banking functions
- Ensuring trading standard regulations are adhered to at all times.
Skills & Experience required:
- Previous retail experience, ideally at Team Leader level or higher
- Understanding of stock management and value of products (in particular clothing, homeware, toys)
- Good IT skills including Word and Emails
- Ability to manage own workload as well as the teams
- Good communication skills at all levels
- GCSE Maths and English or equivalent literacy and numeracy skills
