Join our Solutions Design team!
The Solutions Design Team comprises members from many different technical backgrounds; from network and security to datacentre, end-user compute and even service architecture. The team provides customers and the wider Softcat team sight of the broader picture – helping to pull all pieces of the jigsaw together and solving the puzzle of how business requirements are interpreted into technical solutions involving multiple technical verticals.
You will be a key member of the technical design presales team, responsible for helping customers assess and choose the right client devices (laptops, desktops and workstations) for their end-users. This will involve evangelising and getting customers excited about the products of our key hardware vendors have in their portfolio. You will also be able to articulate the value proposition of Softcat’s services and solutions around device management, security, lifecycle and user experience.
As Solutions Professional – Client Devices, you’ll be responsible for:
- Be Softcat’s Intel vPro lead
- Be Softcat’s resident vPro expert, able to support Softcat sellers and customers understand the benefits of the vPro platform and equip them with the relevant information and tools to aide the hardware purchase decision.
- Identify potential customers for vPro based OEM devices, as part of the Win11 refresh program (SRI/ECI), to support achieving the 2024 vPro sales goal set between Softcat & Intel.
- Engaging with customers and prospects to understand their business challenges and device requirements
- Providing expert advice and guidance on the features, benefits and differentiators of various client devices from vendors such as HP inc, Dell, Samsung, Lenovo, Microsoft.
- Developing and delivering compelling presentations, demos and proposals that showcase the value of Softcat’s hardware offerings and services.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders within the customer and vendor organisations
- Working closely with the account managers, sales specialists, solution architects and technical consultants to ensure a smooth and successful sales cycle.
- Maintaining your knowledge and understanding of your discipline, particularly with regards to the latest technology developments – and disseminate that knowledge within the wider Softcat tech team
- Producing high-quality documentation as a follow-on activity
We’d love you to have
- A background in presales, and solutions design is beneficial but not a requirement for this role. We can give you all the enablement you need to build the necessary skills.
- Ability to develop trust and maintain relationships – with internal customers, external customers, and partners.
- Ability to present complex information clearly, persuasively, and elegantly through presentations, demonstrations and whiteboarding.
- A passion for technology and for making technology work for businesses.
- Ability to work with other members of Solutions Design, professional services consultants, and architects to develop cross-discipline customer focused solutions.
- Ability to understand and ratify technical designs at high level.
- Excellent communications skills, particularly with customers.
- A good level of business awareness and commercial acumen.
- Industry recognised qualifications/certifications consummate to the role, MS-100 is preferred but not required.
