This is a fantastic opportunity for a Management Accountant to develop their career with a fast growing, dynamic, investment-backed business in Lichfield. you will be tasked with delivering accurate and timely financial information and establishing and maintaining a robust control environment and a culture of continuous improvement.
Your role:
- Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely monthly management reports and other financial performance indicators
- Working with the CFO on the delivery of monthly financial board reports
- Collaborate with auditing services to ensure compliance
- Working alongside the CFO maximising any appropriate R&D tax credits, supporting work on Research and Development Tax Relief Claims
- Responsibility for VAT and PAYE/NIC, working alongside CFO for Corporation Tax and other compliance issues
- Take ownership of payroll processing and payments
- Help develop the annual budgeting and forecasting processes, collaborating with department heads to develop realistic and achievable financial plans
- Manage and monitor the company’s cash flow, optimising working capital and liquidity to support operations and growth initiatives
- Provide strategic financial guidance and support to the executive team, helping to drive informed decision-making and overall business growth
- Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported
- Daily reconciliation and examine all financial reports and data closely to check for discrepancies
- Assist with the design, implementation and adherence to efficient and robust financial systems and controls
Your background:
- Qualified or nearly Qualified (ACCA, ACA, or CIMA)
- Previous experience in a similar role within finance is essential
- Strong knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS
- Excellent Microsoft Excel knowledge
- Strong understanding of financial regulations, accounting principles, and reporting standards
- Strong communicator and able to develop relationships with key stakeholders
- Able to mentor and support others
- Possess a high attention to detail with ‘big picture’ awareness
