The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for a competent Test & Support Engineer to join a small business that specialise in digital transformation largely in the public sector. They specialise in assisting business’ with digital transformation and also real world experience in designing, developing and supporting cutting-edge and real world cutting-edge solutions.
You will collaborate both internally and externally to work through manage multiple projects, identify bugs and report software issues to the developers. You will have a keen eye for detail and be able to collaborate with developers to ensure timely issue resolution and product improvement. You will work with developers to create and execute test plans, test cases and test scripts to ensure product quality. You will be passionate about technology and gain a deep understanding of the business’ software products and be keen to stay up to date with the latest technologies and trends.
In addition to this, you will collaborate with customers through various channels to ensure that any issues are triaged, troubleshot and resolved effectively – working with the internal team to resolve these as quickly and clearly as possible. You will be able to communicate technical information to non-technical users and track and monitor the progress of cases managing both internal and external stakeholders. You will ensure that all documentation including testing documentation is maintained and up to date. You will assist in providing training and guidance / workshops to internal teams to ensure that everyone is skilled up with regards to best practice.
Skills
Experience with dealing with clients
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Experience with manual testing methods and bug fixing
Knowledge of software testing methodologies and tools
Experience with issue tracking and project management software i.e. GitLab, Jira
SQL Server knowledge is a bonus
