Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the month-end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial results in accordance with IFRS and regulatory requirements.
- Reconcile daily merchant liabilities and dues to customers to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, generating timely and accurate reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Stay updated with regulatory changes in the financial services industry, ensuring company adherence to all relevant regulations.
- Coordinate external audits, address audit queries, and ensure accurate representation of financial data.
- Timely VAT reporting and compliance with taxation requirements.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements within the finance function and implement best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and streamline financial procedures.
- Manage a team, providing guidance and mentoring to junior members of the finance team.
Essential Experience and Qualifications:
- Qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, or CIMA) with 3-5 years PQE
- Proven experience in the financial services industry, preferably within a regulated payment acquirer or similar environment.
- A thorough understanding of Client Fund reconciliations
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial regulations.
- Experience managing external audits and interacting with auditors.
- Proficient in using NetSuite and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience in team management.
Desirable:
- Intercompany matrix experience
