Hays Accountancy & Finance are partnering exclusively with a leading Technology business currently undergoing rapid expansion and transformative change to recruit a dynamic and experienced Management Accountant, to be based out of their Cheltenham, Gloucestershire office. Reporting to the Head of Finance, working within a close-knit finance team, this role will play a pivotal role in supporting financial decision-making by preparing, analysing, and presenting financial reports. This position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, technology-driven industry and contribute to the strategic financial management of the organisation. Remote/office hybrid working offered and open to part-qualified/qualified accountants and candidates who are qualified by experience.
Your new role
Your key duties will involve preparing monthly management accounts, monthly/quarterly/annual financial reports, and analysing data to provide insights to aid decision-making. You will ensure reporting in compliance with regulatory requirements, prepare/submit VAT declarations, and reconciliations for individual companies within the group. Maintain fixed asset registers, monthly balance sheet reconciliations, cost/financial analysis, and provide insights into impacts on financial performance. You will provide weekly/monthly cash flow forecasting, assist in internal/external audits, and be involved in process/system improvement projects. You will support the Head of Finance with management of the Accounts Assistants and their continued development, along with ad-hoc duties for senior management.
What you’ll need to succeed
To be considered for this exciting and hands-on Management Accountant role, you will need experience within a similar position. Ideally, part-qualified/qualified or qualified by experience, with proven experience in a fast-paced and changing environment. You will have strong MS excel skills, key financial systems knowledge, exceptional attention to detail, with strong communication skills to build relationships both internally/externally. You will be adaptable, very willing to learn, and be used to managing workloads to meet deadlines. Experience within the technology sector with supervisory skills would be advantageous but not essential.
