We have a great opportunity for a Cargo Duty Manager position at London Heathrow Airport (TW6) to work for a leading player in the air freight and logistics industry.

As a Cargo Duty Manager, you will be reporting to the Operations Manager and will manage a newly created special cargo handling department. You will be responsible for monitoring the performance of all departments responsible for imports, exports, and dangerous goods for all its multi-cargo facility sites.

Your primary role will be to monitor the performance of the warehouse, transport, and cargo office functions using a mixture of IT software and hands-on operational management experience. You will be accountable for ensuring that all departments are performing at their best.

This is a permanent opportunity and will require the successful individual to work a mixed shift pattern that will include 2 day and 2 night shifts followed by 4 days off.

This role is ideal for a highly skilled individual in air cargo logistics who uses software to manage performance delivery.

The duties and responsibilities of the Cargo Duty Manager will include:

• To monitor the data flow for cargo shipments to be processed and provide analysis on the best possible solutions to optimise business performance and mitigate delays to meet customer service levels.
• Report any detriments to the service in all departments, identify causes and implement short and long term strategies.
• Using data and technology systems, Implement operational excellence within the transport, warehouse, and cargo office departments.
• Support senior operations team with quality assurance audits and provide operational support.
• Monitor health and safety and staff performance standards, address any failures, and provide remedial action.

The skills and experience required to be considered for this Cargo Duty Manager role:

• Five years of people and performance management experience either from an air cargo or logistics environment.
• Experience in using IT related operational performance software as part of your daily activities.
• A high degree of competency in operational planning.
• Working knowledge of cargo systems such as Cargo Spot, Hermes, ABS5 and Microsoft Office.
• A good understanding of workplace health and safety.
• Technical competence and the ability to demonstrate strong problem-solving skills.
