Cyber Analyst
The Cybersecurity Analyst’s primary role is to help protect from cyberattacks by monitoring our systems and evaluating threats as they arise.
This will include monitoring our cyber security tools/ dashboards and identifying any potential vulnerabilities and escalating to the wider IT Team to ensure that potential and actual breaches can be mitigated efficiently. It will also include responding to security advisory alerts to proactively resolve vulnerabilities.
You will defend our organisation’s computer hardware, software and other systems from theft, loss and other cyberattacks.

With primary responsibility for monitoring the security of our systems and services, the post holder in collaboration with the IT Team will lead on IT Security activities
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that cyber security is aligned with business security and information governance and ensuring that cyber security is effectively managed in all service and IT service management activities.

Job description
* Assist in the resolution of incidents and complete service requests relating to all aspects of cyber security in accordance with defined processes and service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs).
* Monitor changes in cyber security threats and appropriately respond to changes in threat profile.
* Monitor cyber security services, systems, and related infrastructure for signs of compromise.
* Identify any potential and actual vulnerabilities in applications, infrastructure, services, software, and systems.
* Provide guidance and support to employees on a range of cyber security issues, including computer viruses, spam e-mail, malware, and hoaxes.
* Contribute to cyber security support functions such as creating and defining cyber security processes on a wide and varied range of tasks.
* Assist with investigations into potential and reported misuse of IT facilities.
* Assist with cyber security risk assessments on user requests for access to systems, use of new software or hardware facilities.
* Provide regular management information on cyber security matters, e.g. on the e-mail and internet monitoring systems and identify the need for any new controls based on this Information.
* Assist in the coordination and management of cyber incident response activities.
* Support the IT team in the provision of service delivery, ensuring the team shares knowledge and works flexibly.
To be successful in this role, it is expected that you will have:
* Experience of providing good advice and support to a range of users.
* Experience of working in a confidential environment and in a customer-focused ICT organisation.
* Experience of delivering excellent service to a wide range of stakeholders
* Understanding of relevant Cyber Security standards, legislation and regulations including compliance standards.
* Good knowledge of current and emerging security threats and technologies.
* Good knowledge of cyber security best practice toolsets and methodologies including system management tools.
* Basic knowledge of database and application security.
* Knowledge of how to set up and maintain administrative procedures and systems.
* Knowledge of information management and reporting.
