Our client is an SME based in near High Wycombe who are looking to recruit an amazing Purchasing Manager to be a pivotal part of the procurement process. You will be seasoned in building relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts and managing the entire purchasing cycle. The ideal candidate will have experience using ERP systems, SAP and Excel and will be comfortable managing a portfolio of around £3 million and hold at least 5 years purchasing experience. This role is hybrid working after probation and offers a salary of £37,000 plus a performance related annual bonus.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Schedule the supply of materials/components to meet all sales and production requirements and minimum safety stock levels
  • Plan, develop, implement and evaluate processes for material delivery from supplier to warehousing
  • Deal with any stock discrepancies or quality issues efficiently
  • Assess volume requirements against planning assumptions
  • Day-to-day order management and management of deliveries Understand and manage risks to minimise impact on sales and production schedules
  • Take follow up actions in relation to material shortages that affect sales and production
  • Implement all processes to agreed standards and targets and support continuous improvement initiatives and identify areas of improvement
  • Utilise the ERP system that is in place and ensure that data is accurate and up to date and resolve any issues as required
  • Monitor the integrity of Bill of Materials and manage inventory accuracy.
  • Manage the receiving and booking of goods in to correct locations in an accurate and timely manner, liaising with intercompany and planning teams for any discrepancies or quality issues
  • Monitor inventory levels against agreed target levels
  • Support inventory checks to validate inventory accuracy
  • Create regular statistical reports and analysis and update others in the organisation.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to forecast, plan and facilitate on-time materials to the production line as and when required, avoiding disruption to production
  • Generate and communicate supplier material delivery schedules and forecasts to ensure they reflect requirements and meet demands
  • Support supplier meetings and negotiations to ensure demand for materials is met.

  • Good communicator with the ability to form and maintain good relationships internally and externally
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Commercial and financial awareness with a full understanding of how failure impacts the costs, production, manufacture and customer order fulfilment
  • Results orientated and organised with the ability to plan and deliver against deadlines
  • Strong analytical, planning and problem solving skills
  • Project management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail skills
