This candidate will play a key role in supporting the tax function within the organization, mainly focused on management of direct/corporate taxes in Ireland and EU/ROW. Reporting to the Executive Director, Taxation, this role will be responsible for corporate income tax compliance processes for entities, across multiple jurisdictions internationally (outside the US), and accounting for income taxes under US GAAP, IFRS and local GAAPs (as required). The candidate will also lead and/or support ad hoc projects, and the role will collaborate, on a day-to-day basis with the wider tax team as well as other functional groups within the organization across multiple site locations, including finance, treasury, legal and HR, as well as with external advisors.
Essential Functions
- Responsibility for management of all corporate tax compliance obligations, including tax returns, tax payments, credit and incentive claims and withholding taxes for Group entities in EU/ROW territories, ensuring that the Company fulfils its obligations in a compliant and timely manner. This will include management of Jazz’s Pillar 2 obligations.
- Support the Executive Director, Taxation with planning for and implementation of tax management strategies for the Group and other ad hoc projects including global expansion, Mergers & Acquisitions, integrations, corporate restructurings, etc.
- Manage or assist with corporate tax inquiries and/or audits, as they arise.
- Ensure accurate and timely quarterly US GAAP reporting and maintain proper audit and compliance documentation to support the quarterly audit of the consolidated tax provision.
- Responsibility for tax inputs to the Group’s IFRS financial statements.
- Manage the day to day work and development of part of the tax team, including a senior manager and manager.
- Provide timely, commercially focused and actionable tax support to internal stakeholders in respect of the Company’s business operations across all direct tax heads in the relevant jurisdictions.
- Maintain excellent relationships and partner with Group finance, legal and treasury teams and external advisers and other stakeholders.
- Keep up to date with legislative and policy developments and ensure the implications of all legislative changes are addressed appropriately.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- A strong foundation of technical tax knowledge, significant experience in tax accounting and tax compliance processes.
- Strong documentation skills and experience maintaining effective internal controls over financial statement positions.
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- A ‘hands-on’ team player who is comfortable working on projects on an independent basis and coordinating input from others.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and an ability to clearly and effectively communicate complex tax issues to functional groups in the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and coach team members.
Required/Preferred Education and Licenses
- Chartered Tax Advisor/AITI qualified or Chartered Tax Consultant, with an ACA qualification a strong advantage;
- Big 4 trained, with seven or more years of recent experience in corporate tax. Multi-jurisdictional and/or industry experience preferred, and experience with US GAAP reporting an advantage.
