Job Purpose / Overview
The Junior Integrated Management System (IMS) Auditor is appointed to undertake and complete internal audits for the effective deployment of the IMS. Using established audit processes, they are to assist in the delivery of the annual audit schedule. Audits shall be planned, executed, reported with findings managed to resolution.
The Junior IMS Auditor by delivery of audit activities within the Project shall provide confidence that the processes and practices being operated as part of the Quality Management System, are robust and meet the requirements of Licence Condition 17 respecting Nuclear Safety as paramount at all times.
The position is within the Quality Governance Team of the Quality Directorate. This Team develops and maintains policies, strategies, standards, procedures and best practice in quality as well as providing oversight of HPC’s activities and effectiveness.
Working within the Quality Governance Team the individual supports the oversight of the effectiveness of the IMS and identifies improvement and good practice.
The role is predominantly based within the Satellite Delivery Centre, Bridgwater but does have a potential for remote working agreed in advance by the IMS & Audit Manager/Lead. There will also be a requirement to occasionally work at the HPC construction site (Somerset) to complete duties.
Principle accountabilities
- Complete IMS Internal audits
- Ensure that audits are planned effectively with effective engagement of stakeholders and auditees.
- Identify and correctly categorise findings – Non-Conformances, Observations, Good Practices and Opportunities for Improvements.
- Ensure that audit reports are produced accurately, internally reviewed and published within agreed timescales.
- Monitoring process non-conformance within the organisational learning and improvement tool to ensure NCs are closed in a timely manner and corrective actions have been effective.
- Undertaking appropriate monitoring measurement and analysis of audit results in order to identify improvement opportunities.

Desirable
- Knowledge & understanding of nuclear site license conditions.
- Ability to speak French is advantageous
Qualifications & Experience
- Internal auditor qualification (ISO 9001:2015).
Desirable
- Large-scale infrastructure project experience.
- Previous experience of working in a regulated environment (nuclear).
- Membership of Chartered Quality Institute or IRCA.
- Previous experience within the nuclear industry.
- Experience of working with integrated management systems.
- Experience of working within an independent oversight or audit capacity.
- Experience in the application of ISO9001, standard in a multidisciplinary project environment.
