Finance Manager
Portsmouth based (once per week) with hybrid working, up to £70k plus car allowance
We are delighted to be partnering with a PLC in the recruitment of a Finance Manager to support one of their divisions. This is a key role within the business, focused on increased controls around budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
As a Finance Manager you’ll be responsible for the financial management of a key contract, providing the link between finance and the operational delivery of the contract, ensuring that cost drivers from the operations are properly understood and communicated to the business.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Production of timely and technically accurate contract/site accounts, budgets, forecasts, and strategic plans including variance analysis.
- Business Partner with the operational teams holding them to account with their forecasts and budgets.
- Establish, create, and maintain appropriate processes to ensure effective financial and business controls.
- Preparation of contract review presentations identifying future opportunities and risk.
- Providing and managing any contractual financial information e.g. any finance information to be provided as part of contractual reporting to customers.
- Line management and oversight of a Management Accountant.
About you:
- Fully Qualified (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent)
- Demonstrable experience in a similar Finance Manager or leadership role
- Experience of long-term contract accounting or project accounting experience is highly desirable.
- Experience of IRFS 15 a real preference
- Strong finance business partner experience, including ability to concisely present complex financial information.
- Strong IT skills, in particular Excel to intermediate / advanced level
