Hours: 20 hours over 5 days, ideally 10:00 – 14:00 (Flexibility around the hours worked)
The Role:
Reed Scientific are recruiting for a Quality Control Analyst for our client who are a chemical manufacturer. The QC Analyst will be responsible for the day to day running of quality control in accordance with set procedures and Health and Safety guidelines.
Main Responsibilities of the QC Analyst
- To test total solids, pH, viscosity, specific gravity and particle size of production batches for quality control.
- Make adjustments to production batches as required and update the batch adjustment log.
- Pass/fail production batches and log test results onto the sage system.
- Check incoming raw material certificates of analysis against specifications on file
- Maintain specification and data files.
- Produce certificates of analysis for outgoing finished goods
- Perform daily/weekly calibrations on lab equipment and log the results.
- Assist in general duties when required.
- Ensure a high standard of housekeeping is maintained in the lab
Person specification
- A – level Chemistry or a BSc in Chemistry, or Chemistry knowledge gained through experience
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Previous experience in a QC role would be an advantage
- Is a confident decision maker
- Is proactive with ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously to meet deadlines
- Has good problem solving skills
- Has good attention to detail with a methodical and logical approach
- Has excellent communication skills.
- Is a good team player.
