Responsibilities:
As a Workshop Controller, you will be the linchpin of their workshop, managing and coordinating various crucial activities:

* Job Allocation and Scheduling: Assign tasks and jobs to technicians based on their skills, expertise, and workload, ensuring optimal resource allocation.
* Resource Management: Oversee workshop resources, ensuring tools, equipment, and spare parts are available and in top working condition for a seamless workflow.
* Quality Control: Ensure that repairs and maintenance services meet the highest quality standards and comply with manufacturer specifications.
* Customer Service: Interact with customers to understand their vehicle concerns, provide timely updates on repair progress, and address any inquiries.
* Technical Assistance: Provide technical guidance and support to technicians, assisting them in diagnosing complex issues and suggesting effective repair methods.
* Workflow Management: Streamline workflow within the workshop, ensuring efficient and timely completion of all repair and maintenance tasks.
* Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of completed jobs, parts used, labour hours, and other relevant information.
* Training and Development: Identify training needs for workshop staff and organise training sessions to enhance their skills and knowledge.
* Budget Management: Assist in the preparation and management of the workshop budget, controlling expenses and maximising profitability.

Requirements
Qualifications (Essential):
GCSE or Equivalent:

* ‘C’ grade in English and Maths

Driving Licence:

* Indicates a requirement for the ability to drive.

Qualifications (Desirable):
IMI Level 3 or Equivalent:

* In Motor Vehicles.

HND or HNC:

* In Motor Vehicles or equivalent.

Skills (Essential):
Communication:

* Able to work efficiently with the public.
* Able to convey information clearly and succinctly, whether verbal or written.
* Able to establish effective working relationships with varied personnel.

Independence and Initiative:

* Able to work independently, demonstrating initiative and pro-activity.

Interpersonal Skills:

* Able to demonstrate sensitivity, diplomacy, and tact.
* Able to persuade, negotiate, and influence others.

Flexibility:

* Flexibility to cover absences of a similar role.

Technology:

* Basic computer skills.
