We are looking for a Lab Technician to join us in our microscopy laboratory at our Head Office in Par.

This really is an exciting opportunity for someone who has a passion and interest in chemistry or who has already gained experience working in a similar role. Furthermore, this role could be the start of a career in laboratory work offering a solid career path in this area. The role involves looking at a variety of samples from a diverse range of minerals as well as the end product used by our customers. Not two days are the same! Responsibilities include quality control sampling, instrument checks, proficiency testing, assisting in the preparation of approved test methods and Identifying instrument performance issues. We might also ask you to work in other areas of the laboratory from time to time. Full training is given.

This is a full time permanent position. Hours of work are Monday to Friday (7.00am to 3.00pm) with some flexibility around start and finish times (discussed at interview)

We ask you to:

  • Have some experience working in a laboratory (this could have been at college or university)
  • Have a GSCE (s) in science based subjects
  • Have a genuine interest in this type of work
  • Have excellent attention to detail
  • Be task orientated and able to stay on task
  • Have excellent written communication skills (for report writing)
  • Be organised and methodical
