Mechanical Technician Day Shift Only

Our client, a leading organisation in the engineering industry, is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Technician to join their dynamic team. Salary: £32,000

Shifts: Days Only – Monday to Friday

Responsibilities:

  • Perform complete planned preventive maintenance (PPM) of equipment, tools, and facilities, focusing on breakdown prevention through the continuous development of PPM procedures.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of breakdowns and implement effective reoccurrence prevention plans using tools such as major breakdown reports.
  • Collaborate with other departments, suppliers, contractors, and manufacturers as required.
  • Install or modify equipment as needed, ensuring adherence to industry standards and specifications.
  • Operate access platforms, including scissor lifts and cherry pickers, following safety guidelines and protocols.
  • Demonstrate a positive approach to Health, Safety, and Environment (HS&E) through adherence to good working practises, housekeeping, and correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Promote and enforce a safe working environment, leading by example and driving positive behaviour according to our client’s health, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Perform any other responsibilities that may reasonably be expected.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in carrying out planned preventive maintenance and implementing maintenance procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of root cause analysis and implementation of reoccurrence prevention plans.
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude and ability to install or modify equipment accurately.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with various departments, suppliers, contractors, and manufacturers.
  • Experience operating access platforms, such as scissor lifts and cherry pickers, is a plus.
  • Solid understanding and commitment to Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations and practises.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team, with a positive and proactive approach.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
