Permanent, based on site in Kempston

Are you a PC Build and Support Technician/Engineer looking to build innovative automation?

If you’ve been away on holiday, you may have passed through one of our body scanners or passed your luggage down one of our baggage lines and had it x-rayed – that’s what we design and manufacture here at Leidos in Kempston.

We are seeking a PC Build and Support Engineer to build, maintain and support hardware and in-house software supplied to our customers. You’ll test and resolve software and hardware issues, create product problem reports and troubleshooting documents for each issue.

As a PC Build and Support Engineer here at Leidos, you will;

  • Build and Image customer PCs and ancillary devices.
  • Test builds thoroughly after build/image.
  • Test, diagnose and repair faults in returned PCs and ancillary devices.
  • Process and audit returned components.
  • Raise any possible issues/problems/improvements to any units that may require the attention of co-workers or a member of management.
  • Install software packages and settings including Microsoft operating systems and drivers.
  • Install and configure 3rd party and bespoke in-house software.

You’ll be based at our modern facility in Kempston where we offer great working conditions, you’ll join a friendly team with the autonomy to go and do your job.

There’s always a new challenge to solve and as the technology evolves, you will need to get to grips with how each new piece of equipment works.

We currently work a day shift, 40 hours per week.

About You

High level of general IT knowledge.

Strong fault-finding experience on IT Equipment

Good understanding of Image capture and deployment

Good working knowledge of Windows operating systems – Win7 and 10.

Confident in communicating with internal teams and customers.

Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2012 to 2019.

Knowledge of Windows Server 2012 to 2019.

Due to the nature of our business, you are expected to obtain and maintain BPSS security clearance.
