Job Description:
We are recruiting on behalf of a primary academy that is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Foundation Stage Teaching Assistant to join the early years team. As a Teaching Assistant in the Foundation Stage, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of young children during this crucial stage of their education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Foundation Stage teacher in delivering engaging and age-appropriate lessons.
- Support individual and small-group activities to enhance children’s early learning experiences.
- Foster a positive and nurturing environment that encourages exploration and creativity.
- Assist in the preparation and organisation of learning materials and resources.
- Provide one-on-one support to children with additional learning needs, if required.
- Support daily routines, including snack times, outdoor play, and transitions.
- Monitor and record children’s progress, reporting observations to the class teacher.
- Encourage positive social interactions and emotional development.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
- Previous experience working in a Foundation Stage setting is preferred.
- Understanding of early childhood development principles and best practices.
- Patience, creativity, and a passion for working with young children.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of the Foundation Stage curriculum.
- Willingness to undergo background checks and clearances as required by the school.
Pay rate – £12- £14 per hour depending on experience
