House Coordinator (Team Leader), up to £28,000 p/a depending on experience.
This is a rare opportunity to join the care management team at Camphill Milton Keynes, a community supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism. We are looking for an experienced, person-centred, organised House Coordinator with excellent people management skills and strong values to come and join our community.
You’ll be taking over Whitethorn House and ensuring a smooth handover from the previous incumbent who is retiring after almost 10 years. Whitethorn is a home for 12 adults who live, work and celebrate together within a vibrant, inclusive and unique community. You’ll be supported by a dedicated Senior Support Worker and a stable, consistent team of support workers. Camphill is rated "Excellent" by the council and we offer an environment where staff can grow and develop. You’ll be an established manager or team leader with a good understanding of autism and learning disability or an aspiring and ambitious senior looking for progression.
You’ll be qualified up to Level 3 and committed to achieving your Level 5. You’ll ideally be a driver and you’ll be working shifts including alternate weekends, late shifts and sleep-ins.
About the Role:
To manage one of the houses on our Willen site as House Coordinator.
Knowledge & Skills:
GSCE English or equivalent.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office systems such as Outlook, Word and Excel to an intermediate level.
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
Highly organised with the ability to prioritise tasks and work on own initiative.
Detail conscious.
Professional telephone manner and effective communicator with a range of stakeholders.
Minimum 2 years of experience within a care management role.
Knowledge of autism, learning disability and associated conditions.
Experience of supervising others.
NVQ in Social Care up to Level 3 or equivalent, and commitment to completing Level 5.

Staff Supervision
Participate in supervision and staff appraisal.
Attend staff meetings when required.
Participate in ongoing in-house and external training and professional and personal development activities.
Managing budgets, finances and financial compliance.
Writing support plans and risk assessments and ensuring these are up to date.
Ensuring residents are safeguarded from abuse.
Ensuring compliance with standards set by CQC and the local authority.
Managing the healthcare and medication needs of residents.
Holding staff and house meetings regularly.
General:
Build a professional working relationship with residents, colleagues and relevant professionals.
Represent CMKC in a positive and professional manner.
Adhere to confidentiality procedure.
Comply with CMKC and social care workers (GSCC) Codes of Practice.
Comply with CMKC policies and procedures.
To work in accordance with CMKC mission and vision statements and statement of values
Able to work on own initiative and under direction
High attention to detail and high level of accuracy
Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels
Basic awareness of the needs of people with learning disabilities
