You will already have experience of working within an inpatient hospital or a similar setting at a senior manager level over seeing non clinical services.

You will lead, manage and be responsible for the operations of support services which includes catering, housekeeping, maintenance and security and some administration functions.

The role also includes being an active member of the Senior Management Team reporting directly to the Hospital Director.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Co-ordinates Health & Safety for the hospital reporting directly to the Hospital Director and
  • feeds back to SMT, CG and H&S meetings.
  • Provide strong and robust leadership within support services teams.
  • Management of budgets within the support services teams.
  • Ensure up to date awareness regarding best practice within the domains of catering, housekeeping, maintenance, security and administration.
  • Works in a way that complies with legislation and organisational policies and procedures on health, safety and risk management.
  • Maintain the highest standards of integrity when communicating with staff, patients, family, carers and other professionals.

To be Successful as a Support Services Manager you will need:

  • Ability to deal with multiple issues simultaneously in a highly dynamic environment
  • A sound knowledge of legislative frameworks
  • Proactive and creative
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Project Management experience- ideally with a qualification
  • Effective time management
