Group Reinsurance Technician – 9 months fixed term contract
The opportunity
To assist the reinsurance team in the processing of quota share contracts and premiums, external reinsurance reporting and cash management.
Your new role
- Ability to calculate and report on Group reinsurance recoveries against complex reinsurance programmes.
- Assist with the monthly close in the internal reinsurance system in respect of Group reinsurance recoveries.
- Prepare data and liaise with internal management, actuarial and Divisional teams to ensure accurate data is collated.
- Manage, monitor and review received data to check for accuracy and reporting exceptions.
- Maximise the processes in place within the team to ensure timely and accurate data being captured on all core underwriting systems and spreadsheets.
- Respond and resolve, in a timely manner, requests for information and/or queries from Broker/Reinsurer/internal departments.
- Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, specifically Reinsurance Brokers and Divisional Reinsurance Teams.
- Assist with the review of current procedures and recommend enhancements to improve processes.
- Undertake ad-hoc technical reviews and propose solutions to identify issues and opportunities and present findings accordingly.
- Assist with periodic reinsurance system UAT testing to ensure current processes are maintained and enhancements are validated.
- Engage with internal departments and recommend/advise on system solutions.
- Ensure that high standards of service are maintained and improved upon.
- Determine own work priorities and activities in line with agreed plans to ensure the achievement of personal and team objectives.
- Conform to all agreed and active standards and procedures to ensure consistency across all tasks undertaken.
About you
- Reinsurance claims and/or recoveries experience
- A high level of numeracy and literacy
- Proven organizational and analytical skills
- Ability to prioritise work to demanding deadlines; adaptable to changing priorities
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to analyse data and use for decision-making
- Advanced Excel
