A renowned Manufacturing organisation requires a Cell Operative to join their Machine Shop and Machine Cell Manufacturing department in the Uxbridge, Middlesex (West London).
The Cell Operative will undertake the setting and operating of CNC machine tools to produce components to the required quality standards and in accordance with required work schedules.
Key Responsibilities – Cell Operative
- Set and operate CNC machine to manufacture components to technical specifications and quality standards.
- Inspect components produced on the cell to the required quality procedures, including 1st offs, last offs, routines and critical dimensions.
- Use of CMM and conventional measuring techniques will be required.
- Set and operate multiple machines.
- Carry out basic maintenance on machine and tools in accordance with TPM programme and machine manuals.
- Accurately interpret component drawings and relevant information so that Part Numbers, Drawing Issues, Working Tolerances and Surface Finishes can be accurately identified and applied.
- Employ appropriate techniques as specified on the job cards relevant to specific components such that work is undertaken according to requirements so that : Processes are carried out in accordance with laid down SOP’s within the Department. Deburring of components to required standard is completed within machine cycle. Required quality standards are achieved. All relevant Health and Safety regulations are adhered to at all times including Risk Assessments, COSHH Assessments, SSW’s arising from RA’s/COSHH and Material Safety Data Sheets. Work is completed in accordance with required work schedules. Productivity is maintained so that the effectiveness and efficiency of the department is at the highest level.
- Undertake self-inspection (and where authorised apply an inspectors stamp) and quality check of work undertaken in accordance with laid down quality standards and procedures.
- Handle materials, goods and components carefully and comply with safety regulations.
- Report any dangerous practices and other dangers such as faulty equipment to local supervision so that all operations are at all times safe.
Skills and Experience – Cell Operative
- Experience in operating/programming CNC machines and tool setting
- Machine shop experience.
- Deburring and milling experience.
- Ability to work to Technical Drawings and specifications.
- Proven experience of being able to inspect components in accordance with quality procedures and standards.
