I am working with a large, global law firm where they are looking for a Finance Director to join their team for a 12-month FTC. You will look after a specific division in the law firm as well as report into the CFO with dotted lines to the Managing Partner.
The Finance Director will have responsibility for the delivery of best practice financial management through:
- Strategic and operational planning
- Project management
- Communications/ business partnering
- Budgeting & financial reporting
- Partner with the Managing Partner, Partners and Directors (HR, Business Development, Operations) to develop, implement and review the global strategy and budget
- Regularly report on the comparison of the budget, results achieved and whether performance measures are being met
- Assist the Managing Partner to communicate results within the division and to the broader firm
- Identify business trends and advocate proactive responses, including supporting business cases for partner candidates, utilisation to match forecast needs
Personal Profile
- Previous experience in a law firm, or a professional services environment with experience in time billing/ WIP
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA/QBE
- Business partnering with a Senior Executive team or Board
- Identifying profit drivers and improvement opportunities through the analysis of P&L
- Experience including general management with responsibility for all aspects of profit and loss
