Digital Trade Lead

Based at our Head Office in Whyteleafe, Surrey (just 15 minutes outside of Croydon, easily commutable from London)

2 days in the office, 3 days working from home – enhanced by variable core hours

We are looking for a strategic leader to head up our Digital Trade team, shaping the department strategy and fuelling innovation to drive the growth and future success of our online business. You’ll have an empowering management style with a flair for developing teams, to effectively execute trade plans and contribute to inform commercial decisions.

You will be commercial and forward-thinking, someone who thrives on pushing boundaries to deliver great results. The Digital Trade Lead will add real value by identifying opportunities to deliver improvements and growth, so this person should be tenacious, focusing on not just the short-term wins, but the longer term goals too.

A bit about the role:

  • Shape the Digital Trade strategy, aligned to the overall business vision and goals
  • Overall ownership of the Digital Trade activity calendar
  • Shaping and leading a high performing team to deliver daily trading activities on the website, ensuring trade plans are delivered on time and correct, and sales and margin targets are achieved
  • Own daily, weekly and monthly trade analysis and reporting, in addition to daily logistics forecasting, suggesting opportunities to improve performance
  • Partner with Marketing to deliver key campaign launches
  • Plan and oversee website content to support company marketing priorities, promotions and all seasonal and peak trading campaigns
  • Ensure product pages, landing pages and homepages are optimised to drive sales
  • Work with the Design/Dev teams to ensure all campaigns are delivered on site to achieve the best customer experience and commercial return
  • Drive the on-site usage of new tools, eg. product reviews, loyalty, fit – to deliver the best customer journey and sales
  • Working with CRO & CRM Managers to optimise audience targeting/personalisation with data from CDP
  • Influence the team to support with site testing for releases as required 
  • Support in the onsite implementation of SEO content and optimisations
  • Key point of escalation with B&M for any challenges around product launches and stock availability
  • Understand and identify commercial opportunities, capitalising on these to drive KPIs
  • Work with our external suppliers to maximise opportunities across the site
  • Develop a testing roadmap that continually improves conversion rate across the site, as well as influencing the team to support with site testing where required    
  • Work with external partners to maximise international trading, revenue opportunities and content plans to improve customer journeys and drive performance

  • Proven as a Digital Trade Manager or Digital Trade Lead, ideally within the Retail industry
  • Commercial and highly analytical
  • Innovative and forward thinking
  • An empowering, supportive and inclusive Line Manager with a passion for coaching and developing teams
  • Results driven, always striving to add value for the business and the customer
  • Excellent in their attention to detail
  • Organised and methodical
  • Able to build strong working relationships with colleagues, internal stakeholders and external partners
  • Proactive and manages workload effectively in a fast pace environment
  • Flexible and collaborative in their approach 
  • Positive with a real ‘can do’ mindset
