Look no further! We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Payments, Accounts, Collection & Enforcement (PACE) Officer to join the team based in Sheffield (Hybrid working available).

Role Overview

As a PACE Officer, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the financial stability of our Council. Your primary responsibilities will include sundry debt collection across a diverse range of Council Services. You’ll collaborate closely with external debt collection agencies, acting as a bridge between them and the Council. Your expertise will contribute to maintaining a healthy financial ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sundry Debt Collection: You’ll proactively engage with clients to recover outstanding debts. Your persuasive communication skills will be essential in negotiating payment plans and ensuring timely settlements.
  • Liaison with External Agencies: You’ll work closely with external debt collection partners, providing them with accurate information and facilitating seamless debt recovery processes.
  • IT Savvy: Strong IT skills are a must! You’ll navigate our systems efficiently, track debt records, and generate reports.
  • Compliance: Adherence to legal and regulatory guidelines is critical. You’ll ensure that all debt collection practices align with industry standards and Council policies.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience: We’re seeking candidates with prior experience in debt collection or related financial roles. Familiarity with sundry debt recovery processes is highly desirable.
  • IT Proficiency: Comfortable using various software tools and systems.
  • Attention to Detail: Precision matters! You’ll meticulously manage debt records and documentation.
  • Team Player: Collaborate effectively with colleagues, external agencies, and stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Tackle challenges head-on and find creative solutions.

An attractive hourly rate of £13.77 is on offer and the hours of work are full time, 37 per week Monday to Friday!
