A leading British gifting and beauty brand, is seeking a new Sales Director to lead, grow and inspire the sales team, driving ambitious growth plans by creating, building, and executing the channel and sales strategy across all markets.

About the role:Sales Strategy Development and Execution:

  • Lead the development and execution of the sales strategy to achieve ambitious growth goals.
  • Ensure Objectives & Key Results (OKRs), budgets, and Profit & Loss (P&L) targets are met.
  • Identify gaps within the existing sales team (people and skill gaps) and solve this through recruitment, training, and upskilling.

Data-Driven Decision Making:

  • Utilise data-driven insights to inform business decisions and maximise growth opportunities.

Business Opportunity Identification:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, collaborating across the organisation to activate and build a robust pipeline across all channels.
  • Taking over from the MD, you will lead the team to maximise sales opportunities by exploring new online channels and leveraging social media platforms and all other sales channels.
  • Improving sell through, monitoring and analysing stock levels and implementing strategy to reduce stock profitably.

Global business networks:

  • Grow and diversify the distributor network to enhance market reach and penetration.
  • Assess and roll out an agent/rep network if suitable.
  • Analysis what ‘Customer Success’ looks like and implement techniques to boost sales with their B2B market.

Customer Acquisition and Retention:

  • Utilise personal contacts and industry relationships to ensure customer acquisition and growth.
  • Implement strategies to enhance customer retention and loyalty.

Partnership Development:

  • Build and maintain honest and genuine relationships with key retail, distribution, and other partners.
  • Leverage a network of high-level buying contacts to foster strategic partnerships.

Performance Analysis:

  • Analyse current retail and distribution performance year-over-year (YOY), identifying gaps for growth and improvement.

Team Management and Inspiration:

  • Build, manage, and inspire an ambitious sales team to deliver exceptional results.
  • Develop effective sales plans, processes, and OKRs tailored to specific channels for success.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the Head of Operations to ensure accurate forecasting, stock reviews, and strict stock accountability management.

Internal Relationship Building:

  • Build strong relationships across all internal departments, serving as an accurate and transparent communicator that inspires teams to achieve.

Requirements:

  • Possess a minimum of 10 years of sales experience in the gifting or similar markets, with at least 5 years in a Head of Sales or Sales Director role.
  • Must have built and managed a successful sales team.
  • Implemented and managed robust pipeline and forecasting processes.
  • Track record of achieve significant YOY growth.
  • Must have a proactive, entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to put forward and implement new and better ways of working.
  • Demonstrate exceptional commercial and analytical skills with a proven track record of success in multi-channel sales including bricks & mortar, MTO, e-commerce, D2C , & social media.
  • Have a strong buyer network across grocers, key online retailers, key/national accounts, and independents in several markets including EMEA and USA.
  • Exhibit a demonstrated ability to lead, manage, and develop high-performing sales teams.
  • Showcase a love for the product with a creative, yet strategic approach – previous experience of working across a diverse range of products is essential.
  • Possess natural leadership qualities with the ability to inspire teams to achieve outstanding results.
