Gi Pro are looking to recruit a Health & Safety Advisor for a reputable housing company. As part of their strategic growth and continued investment, they are looking to recruit an additional person to add to the Health & Safety team.
THE ROLE: As a Health & Safety Advisor you will be required to:
Regular travel to homes across the North East
Ensure the highest standards of Health & Safety are achieved across the Group
Contribute to and deliver on key Health & Safety objectives, developing and promoting a positive compliant culture
Use proven methods to make recommendations and develop solutions to problems
Minimise exposure of noncompliance by adhering to legislation
Champion Health & Safety on site and actively promote a safety culture
Carry out risk assessments and putting counter measures in place to prevent accidents
Educate stakeholders to take responsibility and ownership of their own Health & Safety
Provide support and technical advice to managers to enable them to maintain safe working practices
Cary out regular spot checks to ensure Health & Safety policies are being adhered to
Investigate accidents, identify the cause and ensure remedial actions are implemented
Create a record of accidents with statistics and correlations
Keep up to date with new legislation company and other safety information and brief the management team accordingly
THE CANDIDATE: The ideal Health & Safety Advisor:
NEBOSH General Certificate and/or a NEBOSH Construction Certificate
Working knowledge of Health & Safety legislation
Have experience in auditing, creating/reviewing risk assessments and investigating accidents
Strong problem-solving skills
Ability to communicate and engage with people across all levels
A dynamic personality with the attitude to always do better
Full UK driving licence and use of a vehicle for work purposes
